100 More Easy Recipes in Jars edition by Bonnie Scott Cookbooks Food Wine eBooks Reviews
Interesting book. Provided easy step-by-step instructions. Author created a content page that links directly to the recipe. I know what I will be handing out this Christmas as gifts. Most cooks could figure out how to layer the ingredients but the author has written all the hard work in to a book. Common sense would tell most people to put flour in first before M&M's. But maybe some people do not know that. Will not be as creative as the author in decorating the jars. But while reading to save money people could just any type of glass jar with a lid. A glass pickle jar that has been washed and sit out to dry. Yes, i know it has had vinegar but if left to sit in the open the smell will fad away.
This is a practical guide for making a thoughtful, relatively inexpensive gift for thise special people in your life. It's also a great backup when that unexpected guest arrives. Simply use your premade mix to quickly bake fresh treats. When they want to know how they were lucky enough to arrive at just the right time, you can smile mysteriously or give them a jar to take home, depending in your mood or personality. Having a jar party where each person bakes treats and brings a jar for each person there is a great way to try new recipes, as well as enjoy a time if felliwship with others. Just make sure you have copies of the recipe attached, or you may wind up getting lots of phone calls!
This book is fabulous. I have another book in a similar vein, but the recipes are not really useful for everyday cooking. I also have a couple of books about cooking gifts. However, I would trade all 4 or 5 of those books for this one book. This book is full of recipes which cover lots of tastes and lots of variety with both sweet and savoury options. I would highly recommend it, I use it frequently, and once I've given the gifts, have the recipients ask me where I got the "idea"..........do I tell them it's not my 'creation ' or do I show them my book...........
To be honest, I have no idea why I think the recipes in jars craze should never end. I enjoy making recipes in jars, despite the mess flour creates as it drifts upward and around the house while being packed.
This book has great recipes, instructions that are explained fully, and clear color pictures. I have happily added this book to my collection because I love to make gifts for friends and family. Add my love of cooking and you have a winner.
Thank you to Bonnie Scott for 100 More Easy Recipes in Jars. It does not disappoint!
I liked this book. I'm going to try to adapt some of my gluten free recipes to do the same. I particularly liked the idea of making a pre-mix for different cream soups followed by recipes for each. Several of the gift ideas for sweets including seasoning mixes and chocolate reindeer drops look fun. The author is skilled in creating highly presentable gifts as well.
Plan to make some of these jars as gifts for friends. Love the idea. Thanks for simplifying a process that I thought was difficult. Recommend to anyone who has a lot of small gifts to give. Inexpensive gift and one that will be appreciated.

If, like me, you love making birthday and Christmas gifts, you'll love the ideas in this how-to book. Most will not only be
good in those wonderful Mason jars, but
in other jars we save during the year.
